Adrianna Papell Women's Illusion Neckline Lace Dress - Elegant Formal Gown for Weddings, Prom & Evening Events

This dress is beautiful and very well-made. Very pretty, deep pink color. Pink lining with lace overlay. Wish I could keep it - but it's WAY too small! I bought this to wear to my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner. I ordered a size 12 because I also have a new mother-of-the-bride gown, also Adrianna Papell, also size 12, and it fits perfectly. There are similarities in the style, but the sizing is completely different. I will have to order 2 sizes up for this dress (a 16.) I am saying two sizes because it was a LOT smaller. In fact, I couldn't even attempt to zip it and briefly worried about needing a neighbor to help me out of it. Ha. As another person had noted, it seems to be more roomy in the bust/shoulders area than in the hips. I have a tummy, so spanks will be in order. Yet, the spanks won't need to be too industrial strength because the dress holds its own - i.e., its not flimsy or too stretchy - and it doesn't look tight because of the lace overlay. As soon as I can swallow my pride, I may reorder again: 2 sizes up.I liked the dress, and it was a little darker than pictured, but the fit and look just weren't quite right. if you're little, meaning petite and not too much t & a, this dress won't do that much for you. it's essentially sleeveless, except for the lace, so if you don't have a balcony or junk in your trunk, it's going to look a bit flat or 2 dimensional on you. it's a tough call, because I really like lace, it's classy, looks fairly well made, so it could go either way. I just want to point out that if you wouldn't buy a bustier type dress for reasons of not filling it out, you probably don't want this dress, because it will still look like you're a little kid wearing your mother's or older sister's dress. and the fit wasn't too small or too big--it just wasn't right for my body type (5'4", 125, small bust and butt). I keep trying to find a prom-type strapless dress, but they're clearly not right, no matter how disguised they are w/lace. it's too bad, because I really wish it looked good on me, but I knew if I kept it I'd never wear it. I liked it and it would be great for a wedding or some other soiree. but it doesn't emphasize your best assets, depending on which ones you have. I'll try again, however, as I've had good luck w/amazon clothes otherwise.I ordered a size 4 and got sent a dress that has a stitched on tag which says size US 6 and with a cardboard tag that says size US 4. It also has a plastic black thread attached to the dress which I suspect belonged to the previous tag with the correct size on it. I wanted to wear it at my wedding but since it was too big I ended up wearing another dress from Amazon. It is a very nice dress overall but I think it runs large since size 6 was huge on me. I'm 5'5 and 110 pounds.This dress is amazing. I was worried about the size. Everyone said size up, size up. But I found a review with someone who was my height (5'5") and weight (115 lbs) and saw what size they ordered (2). With that said, I did NOT size up and boy am I glad I didn't. I looked at the sizing chart which was a big help too only because sizes vary so much been brands. Be true to yourself and realistic of what your size is and I'm sure this dress will look amazing on you. The fabric and lace is beautiful. I was afraid to order lace for fear of it snagging but this is beautifully made and not cheapo lace. I got the dress in blue which unless you are really looking at it lclosely, it looks black, I don't mind that at all. I am super excited about this dress and can't wait to wear it. I have three events to go to over the next 6 months so I will be getting to enjoy this dress. I do wish the inside hem was an inch or two shorter but I'm sure I can have that taken in with no issue at all. I can't wait for my husband to see me in this dress!Hi Amazon, I absolutely adored the dress, but it was a teeny bit snugger than I wanted. I also had preferred the gun metal gray, and when I couldn't find it, I found the Buff one online from you. The very next day, I found it in another store in gray (that supposedly they didn't have in my size). Well I drove up to the store, and there was one in my size. So I couldn't keep both, but actually the buff one was prettier, but the sheer part of the illusion neckline didn't show as well as the gray. And I figured, I will be tanned in the summer (wedding), and my skin will be almost the same color as the dress. So that was my deciding factor. Once I had the two colors, I liked the buff one better, but it didn't show the sheer neckline as well as the gray. Also it was made much better, as the one in the store, probabaly 10 people already tried it on. But clearly it fit like a glove, almost a hair too tight, so I ended up returning that one. I am an older woman and I love the designer, Adrianna Papell as she designs petite dresses and I am not quite 5'4". I first bought this dress in a 10P in the charcoal color as that is my normal size. It was so beautiful and tasteful. However, when I tried it on, I could barely fit it over my head! I ended up returning the 10P and purchasing a 12 regular in Navy. It is almost perfect. Beautiful, figure flattering and you don't need to wear a bra with it. However, since I usually wear a 10P and this is a 12 regular, it is about two inches too long. I am keeping it anyway as it is so beautiful. I am wearing it to a wedding in July. It is stunning. I would have given this dress five stars but for the fact that it runs WAY TOO SMALL! Now, having said that, I must say that Adrianna Papell is my favorite designer. Her dresses are breathtaking, tasteful and very figure flattering. I have two other dresses that I purchased for this wedding from Adrianna Papell and they are gorgeous and fit perfectly. Just be aware that if you buy this particular dress, I would suggest going up two sizes. This one is just 'almost perfect'.I ordered 6 dresses because there were free returns. This dress I was able to get in sizes 4 and 6. I am 5'3", 105lbs and not curvy. It fit perfectly in size 4 with a padded bra. The dress is very flattering on and the friends who were helping me choose a dress for 'mother of the bride' which doesn't look like it is made for that event, all liked it best, though we agonized over the V neck beaded sheath in silver. The gunmetal grey colour has dark lavender undertones; very classy, and the lace is beautiful. I could easily where this dress on a cruise or to a New Year's party. There are two linings but I like a dress with a little bit of weight to it so not a problem for me. This is the one I kept!I was concerned that this dress would be too short, as pictured with this model, but the length seemed OK in pictures of other models, so I took a chance. I am 5'6" and it comes just to the knee. Very good quality dress, and the fit is flattering. I ordered up 1 size and it fits well. It is a lovely dress for a formal occasion, and I don't think it is trendy or will go out of style, therefore good value for money. Can't wait to wear it to an upcoming wedding. I ordered Gunmetal, and the color is a dark shimmery grey with just a tinge of purple to warm up the color.The dress was damaged when I received it, the lace is torn and frayed at the right hip. Only option is to return it so I will repair it myself. Would have appreciated a discount but had no option other than returning the dress. It'll be a great dress once it's repaired.This is a beautifully designed and made dress. It is quite heavy in weight so may not be practical for summer or resort wear. I had to return it because even though I took careful measurements, it was a little big all over and far too much room in the tummy area.Amazing dress in style and fit! Love it so much amd it hides tummy. Built in bra padding great. Quality of lace high. Shipped quickly. Will be my go to dress! Very happy and with free shipping and returns could not go wrong. This is a keeper!
